Spear and Katana 2
A few months ago I introduced readers to Spear and Katana, a wicked online flash game that put you in the role of a dueling samurai. I was impressed by the game because it took real strategy to win, and you had to play smart and use good martial arts tactics like distancing and timing.
The creator of the game recently reached out to me and informed me that there is now a Spear and Katana 2!! You can imagine my great joy at hearing this. And, having played, let me tell you – it’s quite good.
The game has been expanded quite a bit from the original. Now you have the option of creating your own character with attributes and weapons of your choice. You can choose different kinds of levels to engage in, and different methods for upgrading your character. All in all, this sequel is even more engaging and time-sucking than the original.
Be warned though – if you die too many times, your journey will be over. Think you can handle it!?
Many thanks to Jiri for making and sharing his games. For more, visit him at ThunderBird Animations.

Hey all! I’m pleased to bring you the winners of the ebook link-out contest.

Those individuals who played along were placed into a randomized program and three winners were selected.

The winners should email me at ikigai108 @ gmail.com so that I can gather the proper shipping information. I’d like to send a big thank you to everyone who got involved and to everyone who has downloaded and read the book.

Four Lies and One Martial Arts Fact…
I’ve recently been challenged by Martial Arts Mom and Shang Lee to participate in a meme. I wouldn’t want to disappoint my fellow bloggers or incur their wrath, so here we go -
The meme works as follows. You post five things about yourself. Four are untrue. One is true. All are so outlandish, implausible or ridiculous that no one would be inclined to believe that any of them are true. And despite the pleas from your readers, you never divulge which is true and which are fabrications. You then tag five other people (four seriously and one person you are pretty sure would never participate).
Fact or Fiction:
1. I once entered a black belt division in a karate tournament as a green belt and subsequently took first.
2. I first learned about the availability of Russian brides through my martial arts training.
3. I was once drawn into a challenge match at my dojo by a roaming grappler looking to prove himself like a ronin.
4. I was offered a role in the upcoming movie Avatar: The Last Airbender.
5. I once broke four bo’s during a kobudo kata performance through sheer velocity and whiplash of the swings.
Sweet sweet memories…do you know which one is true and which are the dirty lies?
Now it’s time to tag some folks. There are a lot of people I’d like to holla at, but I better stick to the rules: Jesse at Martial Explorer, Massimo at Martial What?, Robin at Obey My Blog, Chris at Diary of a Martial Artist, and Iain Abernethy.
