I've learned the first few steps of a kata, and I have to say that it is a very versatile weapon and I love working with it so far. At first, I didn't like it very much because it seemed to me like a halberd without a blade (as a halberd has similar capabilities), but it grew on me over time as I learned to use sai and bo. I'm not as good with sai, but I got to learn the ways you can strike and manipulate opponents with them, and when coupled with my knowledge of bo work, it made the nunti all the more enticing.
