I love that picture you have. Wish I had one of my own. ;)

Realizing how much armor a Samurai warrior had to carry around really helps point out why arts such as the one's you mentioned "Jujitsu, Aikido, and Judo" were SO important back then. Just imagine for a moment, what it would be like to be thrown to the ground while wearing armor like that. Ouch! Unless you're really lucky, you're pretty much a turtle on it's back for a short moment which we all know is just enough time for the person who threw you down, to wield his sword right into you. :P

I dig the blonde mustache on the last picture. Very trendy.

At first I thought you were crazy by saying the samurai's armor was flexible--it looks clunky and heavy at best--and then I remembered what other warriors wore at that time in Europe. They weren't exactly comfy either. The samurai's armor was very effective, it seems, despite its shortcomings.

MAM - haha, I hear ya. I know how difficult it is to move in kendo gear. I can only imagine how clunky that full armor was (and here it was reknowned as maneuverable!)

BBM - Thank, and yea I was sorry too ;-)
