Yeah, Seiunchin bunkai are really, really fun. I believe there are at least 6 moves with that bunkai, all focusing on unbalancing your attacker. Great stuff. Most of our kata come from Goju Ryu, which I especially like due to the hard/soft nature of the defenses and attacks. Very effective. Thanks for commenting on my blog, too! Caveman is very fun, even if it's hip...

Seiunchin is one of my absolute favorite kata. It's an important on in our dojo, one that is often looked back on the higher your ranking gets. What is so difficult about that kata is the stance transition: kibadachi to sanchin over and over and then finally to neiko. It's a great leg workout. Our version is very much like the traditional Gojo Ryu. You can check it out at http://youtube.com/watch?v=oOiR9Qff8XQ. This was done at my shodan shiai. I also like the idea of using the ocean as your guide through kata. So great!!!

I love the idea of kata on a beach. If you can't afford to go on vacation, it's even nice on the back patio on a silent, moonlit night...Very cool...
